Welcome to the ASBA 2017 Fall General Meeting!

We are happy you are exploring these pages to discover all we have in store for your learning, networking and business experience.

The theme of this year’s FGM is: “Dreaming Our Legacy”

We took inspiration for the theme from the Trustees Pin Blessing from the last term, see more on the Special Events page. The idea is that with this new term, you will take on the beautiful challenge and honour of dreaming a future for public education in Alberta, and will work towards making that dream your legacy!

The 2017 FGM will run at the Westin Hotel in Edmonton, November 19-21, 2017. The business portion of the meeting will run on November 20, while an engaging and exciting day of keynote addresses and plenary workshop sessions awaits you all on November 21, 2017.

As the tradition, we will also celebrate the best in public education at the ASBA Awards evening on November 19, 2017. Those of you who register for the entire event are welcome to attend this annual celebration.

This being an election year and a new term for school board trustees in Alberta, we are planning a phenomenal New Trustees Orientation Day on November 22, 2017, also at the Westin Hotel (please note:  There will be a separate registration for this event and a special combo rate for those registered to attend the FGM full conference and the New Trustee Orientation). Plan to make this experience a 4-day event in beautiful Edmonton!

We are looking forward to seeing you all, connecting with each other, energizing each other as ASBA school board members, engaging in discussions about important topics on public education in our province, and reflecting on the important and meaningful role you all play in public governance matters.

Use the active pages in this section of the ASBA website entitled “Learning” to review details about each event. More information will continue to be added for your reference.
