District accused of using laptop
webcams to spy on students at home
On November 11, 2009, Linda Matsko, Assistant Principal at Harriton High School, disciplined high school student Blake Robbins for inappropriate behavior in his home based on video evidence she collected from a webcam installed in a district laptop he had taken home. The district was able to remotely turn on the webcam — and did so without informing the family or asking for their permission. Read more »
