The Calgary Board of Education’s representative is Karen Kryczka who was elected to the board in 2007.
Karen retired from provincial politics in 2004, after two-terms representing the Calgary – West Constituency. She has extensive professional experience in human resources management, counseling and public relations/marketing. Karen is currently is serving as a board member of the Alberta Foundation of the Arts and as a Member of the Rotary Club of Calgary - Sarcee. She is a volunteer alumnus for the Calgary Exhibition and Stampede.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta as well as a Bachelor of Education from the University of Calgary. Karen is married to Gord May and she has two children, two step-children and eleven grandchildren.
