School boards to meet Sept. 14 to consider changes to how association is governed
The ASBA Board of Directors has called a Special General Meeting for Sept. 14 at the Delta Edmonton South. School boards will be asked to consider these bylaw amendments (PDF–316K) which, if passed, will: give Zone 2/3 two directors; replace the current weighted ballot with a double-majority voting system and eliminate the practice of school boards splitting their ballots.  The ASBA Board of Directors is recommending these changes based on findings outlined in the Final report ASBA Governance Review 2007 (PDF–188K). Hard copies of the final report and the proposed bylaw amendments were sent to board offices July 13.  Except for Appendices i and ii, all the documents are available online. For more information contact , Director of Communications, at 1.780.451.7122
