New education advisor for ASBA

Join us in welcoming Jim Gibbons to the ASBA team. He is the new Senior Education Advisor. He was previously superintendent of schools with Chinook’s Edge School Division and recently served on the Inspiring Education steering committee.

Evaluations needed
As of June 16, 82 people have completed the online evaluation of the ASBA Spring General meeting. Overall 21 per cent ranked it as excellent; 54 per cent gave it very good; 19 said it was good and 6 per cent said it was fair.  Your feedback is essential to planning for future events, please take a moment to complete the evaluation. Next campaign school: September 18

ASBA Campaign School a success

The first ASBA Running to win: Campaign school attracted 37 registrants. Featuring communications consultant Hank Goertzen, political strategist Ken Chapman and image consultant Joanne Blake, the school was well received by participants who deemed the $99 registration fee good value for the money.

Given the positive response and inquiries since this event, we will run a second edition if there is enough interest (30 registrants). Please e-mail Suzanne Lundrigan to be put on a wait list.

Policy wheels begin turning
The board reviewed the presentation of the proposed policies to be considered at the 2010 Fall General Meeting. Next steps will see the Policy Development Advisory Committee work with the boards who submitted the proposed policies to refine the documents before circulation to boards and Zones in September.
