Boards tell the ASBA where to go...strategically
School boards have until January 6 to provide input to the ASBA Board of Directors before it begins its annual review of the association’s strategic plan.
How to participate?
- School board reviews ASBA strategic plan.
- School board identifies:
- initiatives that are missing
- initiatives that should move up the agenda
- initiatives that should be given less emphasis
or dropped
- School board submits ideas to Heather Rogers before January 6, 2012.

Community engagement task force gets underway
Under the leadership of Edmonton Public rep Dave Colburn and Zone 2/3 rep Johnette Lemke, the ASBA’s new Community Engagement Task Force will:
- Develop a work plan by the end of June
aimed at deepening school boards’
understanding of and participation in active community engagement.
- Develop legacy resources which will promote
and support school boards’
ongoing efforts in community engagement beyond the life of the task force.
- Involve Zone representatives and CASS, ASBOA and ASCA representatives in this work.
A call for interest in this task force will be circulated shortly.
