LRB to rule on what school boards can
post on websites during negotiations

The ATA filed a Labour Relations Board complaint against Rocky View Schools after the school board posted the ATA and the school board’s opening bargaining positions on its website. See the website here.

On August 31, LRB panel members Nancy E. Schlesinger, Michael Kozielec and Harry Tostowaryk will hear closing arguments from the lawyers representing Rocky View Schools, the Alberta Teachers’ Association and the ASBA. The ASBA is involved in this matter because the LRB ruling will have implications for school boards with regards to what they communicate about negotiations in the future.

Trustees and staff are welcome to attend this public hearing which starts at 9 a.m. August 31 in the Pugh Room, 4th Floor 10808 – 99 Avenue in Edmonton.

Note: In the same vein, the ATA has filed also filed an LRB complaint against Livingstone Range School Division, which also posted opening positions on its website.
