CSBA Annual Congress and National Trustee Gathering on Indigenous Education 2020

The Alberta School Boards Association is proud to host the Canadian School Boards Association Annual Congress and National Trustee Gathering on Indigenous Education 2020!

This event will take place July 2-5, 2020 at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.

With the theme “Standing Stronger Together” (Soyons Plus Fort Ensemble) (Baxine,habine wasagabi engewan) this conference will bring together leaders in education, human rights and the rights of Indigenous peoples.

Featuring speakers from coast to coast including:

  • Lieutenant-General, the Honourable Roméo Dallaire (Ret’d)
  • Stan Wesley
  • Tara Teng
  • Andy Hargreaves

The ASBA website will be updated as information becomes available, including registration, so check back often.

For those who would prefer to camp, please find more information on the Parks Canada website. Keep in mind that campsites in Banff are limited and reservations book quickly.

Getting to the conference

Pursuit (Banff-Jasper Collection) has partnered with Brewster to provide an Express Airport Shuttle between Calgary International Airport and your hotel in Banff. Bookings are currently open and we recommend you book as soon as possible to ensure your preferred shuttle time slot to and from Banff.

For members not staying at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, alternative options to get to and from the Banff Centre from your accommodations include walking, biking, taking transit, and driving.

Activities with promotional rates

For attendees who wish to take part in activities outside of the conference, use promo code CSBA2020 for a 15% discount on select tours and activities* with Pursuit (Banff-Jasper Collection). The promo code will be available to book activities after November 2019. For more information, visit the Pursuit website.

*The promo code will only be available to use toward tours and activities booked between June 29 and July 12, 2020, and it will only be effective with the following Pursuit Products: Banff Gondola; Lake Minnewanka Cruise; Brewster Express Airport Shuttle; and the Glacier Skywalk in Jasper National Park.

Banff National Park fees

There is a daily admission fee to enter Banff National Park by car. If you’re driving your own vehicle or renting one, you need a pass for each day you are staying in the park. These fees are included if traveling by bus or with the Airport Shuttle. Current fees are available on the Parks Canada website.
