Fall General Meeting 2020

The Fall General Meeting is set for November 16 to 17, 2020.

The business portion of FGM is for ASBA members and administration only, including:

  • School board trustees;
  • Superintendents; and,
  • Secretary treasurers.

As health and safety continues to be our top priority, ASBA’s Board of Directors passed a motion at the Board meeting on September 10-11, 2020, to host the Fall General Meeting (FGM) virtually, similar to how the Spring General Meeting was held.

ASBA’s FGM Business Session will be held as a virtual meeting on Monday, November 16. A revised Bylaw and Policies Bulletin with additional information about this meeting was distributed to all trustees on Friday, October 16. Further information was sent regarding professional development details, the registration process and training sessions for voting delegates on Friday, October 23. If there are additions to the Bulletin, a revised version will be circulated on Friday, November 13.

The purpose of this meeting is for members to vote on resolutions regarding a Bylaw amendment and proposed position statements. Please note this event is open to trustees and their administrative staff only. 

All trustees are required to register in advance. Registration for the event will close on Thursday, November 12, at 12 p.m.

Information regarding the registration process, including the link to registration, and training sessions for voting delegates was sent to all trustees on Friday, October 23


The awards celebration and professional development program starts on Tuesday, November 17, at 8 a.m., with programming featuring keynote speakers Peter Mansbridge, Andy Hargreaves and John Dinner.

The Zoom link to join the Professional Development and Awards sessions will be sent via email to all registered guests on Monday, November 16.
