Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Student Awards
The Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Student Awards recognize Alberta students in different grade levels who have shown tremendous growth in developing skills to better themselves by demonstrating determination, initiative and independence, which has led to their improved success both academically and personally. These awards will recognize individual success as well as work and effort applied to overcome academic challenges and will provide incentive to individual students to continue to strive for achievement and success in education.
Award Partners
These Awards are hosted by the Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) and endorsed by the office of the Lieutenant Governor of Alberta.
Award Parameters
These awards will consider Alberta student nominees who attend a school in Alberta that is operated by an ASBA member school board. Students will be nominated by school staff or a member of the education community based on their academic achievement, attitudes, actions and characteristics in pursuit of their educational path.
Awards Categories
Award categories are divided into three regions: North, Central and South. In each region, awards are divided into the following grade categories:
- Grade 6;
- Grade 9;
- And, Grades 11.
In total, nine awards will be distributed each year.
Nomination submission and deadlines
Nomination must be received by 4:30 p.m. on March 17. Nomination packages may be submitted via email to awards@asba.ab.ca. Please use the subject line: 2023 Lieutenant Governor Student Awards. The Nomination Package is available in English and French at https://www.asba.ab.ca/about/awards/.
