June 9, 2025, Edmonton, AB — Alberta School Boards Association (ASBA) celebrated the outstanding achievements of nine recipients in Grades 6, 9 and 11 at ASBA’s 2025 Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Student Award celebration, held on June 9 at Government House.
The nine recipients from across Alberta were nominated by members of their educational communities. Each has shown tremendous growth in developing skills to better themselves through determination, initiative and independence, leading to their improvement and success both academically and personally.
The celebration featured inspiring remarks from:
- The Honourable Salma Lakhani, AOE B.Sc., LLD (Hon), Lieutenant Governor of Alberta
- Marilyn Dennis, President, ASBA
- Maria Ochoa Franklin, 2024 Award Recipient
- Recipients of the 2025 award
